Traverse City Hounds' Scott Luca scored 2:36 into overtime to beat Soo Firehawks, 4-3 (OT). Traverse City Hounds overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Traverse City Hounds was down 2-0 after a power play goal by Soo Firehawks' Zach Eitrem at 9:24 in the first period. Traverse City Hounds tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Greg Meuser at 12:37 in the third period. In the losing effort, Soo Firehawks was sparked by Eitrem, who finished with two goals. Eitrem scored the first of his two goals at 4:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Soo Firehawks. Eitrem's next tally made the score 2-0 Soo Firehawks with 10:36 left in the first period. Soo Firehawks had taken the advantage when Traverse City Hounds' Luca got sent off for tripping. Mario Taranto picked up the assist. Traverse City Hounds forced Soo Firehawks goalie Nicolas Berlingieri to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Traverse City Hounds capitalized on Soo Firehawks' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage. Traverse City Hounds found itself short handed often, totaling 19 penalty minutes and allowing four power plays. Others who scored for Traverse City Hounds included Travis Kirk and Cam Givens, who each put in one.
