Traverse City Hounds takes care of Michigan Ice Dogs early, wins 13-3

An eight-goal first period deficit cost Michigan Ice Dogs, which could not recover and fell to Traverse City Hounds, 13-3.

Traverse City Hounds got the win on the strength of a great game by Clayton Dowlan, who had two goals and two assists. Dowlan scored the first of his two goals at 11:37 into the first period to make the score 4-0 Traverse City Hounds. Blake Anderson picked up the assist. Dowlan's next tally made the score 8-0 Traverse City Hounds with 1:06 left in the first period. Austin Flores provided the assist.

Traverse City Hounds forced Michigan Ice Dogs' goaltenders to work in net, racking up 50 shots and forcing 37 saves. Jacob Dugan made 12 stops and Christopher Boyd made 25. Traverse City Hounds outdid its season average for goals scored. Traverse City Hounds averages 5.9 goals per game.
