Traverse City Hounds blows out Michigan Ice Dogs, 7-2

Traverse City Hounds had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over Michigan Ice Dogs.

Michigan Ice Dogs' power play was ineffective against Traverse City Hounds' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Traverse City Hounds was sparked by Jan Voves, who grabbed one goal. Voves scored 18:11 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Traverse City Hounds. Kevin Hansen assisted on the tally.

Traverse City Hounds forced Michigan Ice Dogs goalie Christopher Boyd to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Traverse City Hounds also got points from Hansen, who also registered one goal and one assist, Jacob Gillis, who also tallied two goals and one assist, and Greg Meuser, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Traverse City Hounds also had goals scored by Clayton Dowlan and Patrick Rogowski, who each put in one. In addition, Traverse City Hounds received assists from Kevin Cole, Zachary Pipers, Travis Kirk, and Cam Givens, who contributed one each and Scott Luca and Austin Flores, who each chipped in two.

Michigan Ice Dogs was helped by Marc Rotondo, who had one goal. Rotondo scored 15:40 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Traverse City Hounds. Kyle Cuthrell provided the assist. Spencer Godin also scored for Michigan Ice Dogs. Other players who recorded assists for Michigan Ice Dogs were Tyler Tamer, who had one.

David Krejcik rejected 24 shots on goal for Traverse City Hounds. Traverse City Hounds incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Boyd recorded 34 saves for Michigan Ice Dogs. Michigan Ice Dogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
