Anthony Wojciechowski had four goals to lead MC Monarchs to a 6-3 victory over Decatur Blaze. Wojciechowski got on the scoresheet 14:06 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:58 into the second, at 19:53 into the second, and at 10:47 into the third.MC Monarchs forced Decatur Blaze's goalies to work without much rest, firing 37 shots and forcing 31 saves. Brandon Macak made 13 stops and Matthew Hatcher made 18. MC Monarchs was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes. Others who scored for MC Monarchs included Trevor Pode and Alex Anderson, who each put in one. In addition, MC Monarchs received assists from Justin Session, Andrew Robinson, Tory Shand, and Alec Domin, who contributed one each. Decatur Blaze forced MC Monarchs goalie Stephan Demmers to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Decatur Blaze was led by Luka Znidarsic, who racked up two goals and one assist. Znidarsic scored the first of his two goals at 14:16 into the third period to make the score 5-2 MC Monarchs. Dylan Farmer picked up the assist. Znidarsic's next tally made the score 5-3 MC Monarchs with 4:04 left in the third period. Duncan Irvine provided the assist. Decatur Blaze also got a goal from Micah Young as well. Other players who recorded assists for Decatur Blaze were Brandon Adler, who had two. Demmers rejected 28 shots on goal for MC Monarchs. MC Monarchs registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Decatur Blaze incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
