Behind a great game by Greg Meuser, who had two goals and three assists, Traverse City Hounds defeated Alpena Flyers, 12-2.

Meuser found the back of the net 5:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Traverse City Hounds and again while 5:38 into the second to make the score 5-2 Traverse City Hounds.

Traverse City Hounds forced Alpena Flyers' goalies to work without much rest, getting 44 shots and forcing 32 saves. Connor Kassuba made 16 stops and Hunter Myers made 16. Traverse City Hounds bested its season scoring average. Traverse City Hounds averages 5.9 goals per game.

Traverse City Hounds also got points from Austin Flores, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Stan Swiderek, who also registered one goal and two assists, Jan Voves, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, and Cam Fisher, who also had one goal and two assists. Traverse City Hounds also had goals scored by Kyle Winkelman, who had two and Travis Kirk, Patrick Rogowski, and Blake Anderson, who each put in one. More assists for Traverse City Hounds came via Kevin Hansen, who had two and Kevin Cole, Zachary Pipers, Cam Givens, Andrew Dzierwa, Grant McCormack, and David Krejcik, who contributed one each.

Alpena Flyers forced Traverse City Hounds goalie Krejcik to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Alpena Flyers was helped by Tait Froggett, who finished with two goals. Froggett scored the first of his two goals at 13:29 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Traverse City Hounds. Brett Farley provided the assist. Froggett's next tally made the score 2-2 with 2:55 left in the first period. Alpena Flyers had gotten the advantage when Traverse City Hounds' Fisher was sent off for cross checking. Brandon Bihn picked up the assist. In addition, Alpena Flyers received assists from James Stacey, who had one.

Traverse City Hounds' Krejcik stopped 37 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Traverse City Hounds incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Alpena Flyers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
