Anthony Wojciechowski was all over the ice for MC Monarchs, as he tallied four goals in MC Monarchs' 7-3 win over Alpena Flyers. Wojciechowski's first goal came 3:02 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:04 into the second, at 19:30 into the second, and at 16:23 into the third.MC Monarchs' penalty kill excelled, as MC Monarchs gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. MC Monarchs forced Alpena Flyers goalie Brett LeTourneau to work between the pipes, taking 59 shots. MC Monarchs was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 20 penalty minutes. Team could not crack Alpena Flyers' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage. More assists for MC Monarchs came via Joseph Gibbs, who had two, Alec Domin and Mitchell Krust, who each chipped in one, and Tory Shand and Jarrad Vroman, who contributed three each. Alpena Flyers forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 12 minors and one major for 49 minutes in penalty time. Alpena Flyers had been averaging 20.0 minutes in penalties per game. Alpena Flyers kept MC Monarchs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Stephen Demmers made 35 saves on 38 shots. Alpena Flyers was helped by Tait Froggett, who finished with one goal. Froggett scored 17:15 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Alpena Flyers. James Stacey provided the assist.
