Soo Firehawks tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but MC Monarchs held on for a 7-5 victory.

MC Monarchs took a 7-4 lead during the third period, only to have Soo Firehawks storm back on a Cody Therrian goal 16:47 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

MC Monarchs kept Soo Firehawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mackenzie Bruce made 33 saves on 40 shots.

MC Monarchs was helped by Adam Jonak, who registered three goals and one assist. MC Monarchs additionally got points from Trevor Pode, who also finished with one goal and three assists. MC Monarchs also got a goal from Anthony Wojciechowski as well.
