Givens nets hat trick, leads Traverse City Hounds to 6-2 win over Decatur Blaze

Cam Givens lifted Traverse City Hounds to a 6-2 victory with a hat trick against Decatur Blaze.

Givens' first goal came 2:12 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:52 into the first and at 10:05 into the second.

Traverse City Hounds forced Decatur Blaze's goalies to work between the pipes, totaling 38 shots and forcing 32 saves. Matthew Hatcher made 20 stops and Paul Stomper made 12. Traverse City Hounds stifled Decatur Blaze's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Traverse City Hounds additionally got points from Patrick Rogowski, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Traverse City Hounds also had goals scored by Austin Flores and Dylan Wilkinson, who each put in one. In addition, Traverse City Hounds received assists from Clayton Dowlan, who had one and Scott Luca, who had two.

Decatur Blaze's offense rang up 36 shots on Traverse City Hounds' net.

Decatur Blaze was helped by Micah Young, who registered one goal. Young scored 6:12 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Richard Mischak picked up the assist. Brandon Adler also scored for Decatur Blaze. Other players who recorded assists for Decatur Blaze were Joey Fowler, who had one.

David Krejcik recorded 34 saves for Traverse City Hounds. Traverse City Hounds incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Decatur Blaze incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
