Traverse City Hounds blows out Decatur Blaze, 7-1

Traverse City Hounds had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-1 win over Decatur Blaze.

Traverse City Hounds' David Krejcik was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 45 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Krejcik will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.73.

Traverse City Hounds was led by Cam Givens, who had one goal and one assist. Givens scored 19:25 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Traverse City Hounds. Patrick Rogowski provided the assist.

Traverse City Hounds' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Decatur Blaze power plays. Traverse City Hounds forced Decatur Blaze goalie Matthew Hatcher to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Traverse City Hounds also got points from Rogowski, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Traverse City Hounds included Scott Luca, Austin Flores, Kevin Cole, Greg Meuser, and Jan Voves, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Traverse City Hounds were Blake Anderson, who had one and Stan Swiderek and Andrew Dzierwa, who each chipped in two.

Decatur Blaze excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Decatur Blaze could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Decatur Blaze puts an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Decatur Blaze's offense rang up 46 shots on Traverse City Hounds' net.

Decatur Blaze was led by Luka Znidarsic, who scored the team's only goal. Znidarsic scored 15:19 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Traverse City Hounds. Gareth Smyth picked up the assist.
