Traverse City Hounds beats Soo Firehawks 9-2 as Kirk gets hat trick

Travis Kirk netted a hat trick to lead Traverse City Hounds over Soo Firehawks, 9-2.

Kirk's first goal came 45 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 4:28 into the first and at 4:46 into the first.

Traverse City Hounds scored early and often, and held a 4-0 advantage after the first 20 minutes of play.

Traverse City Hounds forced Soo Firehawks' goalies to work without much rest, launching 39 shots and forcing 30 saves. Cody Call made four stops and Nicolas Berlingieri made 26. Traverse City Hounds stifled Soo Firehawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Traverse City Hounds' goal total was higher than its season average. This season, Traverse City Hounds averages 6.4 goals per contest.

Others who scored for Traverse City Hounds included Cam Givens, who had two and Clayton Dowlan, Kevin Cole, Andrew Dzierwa, and Grant McCormack, who scored one goal each.
