Michigan Ice Dogs fell behind early, and MC Monarchs kept piling on the points on the way to a 9-2 victory. MC Monarchs got the win behind a great game by Tory Shand, who had two goals and four assists. Shand scored the first of his two goals at 16:55 into the second period to make the score 7-1 MC Monarchs. Bryce Peplinski provided the assist. Shand's next tally made the score 9-2 MC Monarchs with 8:12 left in the third period. MC Monarchs earned a power play opportunity when Tyler Tamer was put in the box for slashing. MC Monarchs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. MC Monarchs found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, MC Monarchs averages 5.1 goals per contest. MC Monarchs additionally got points from Peplinski, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Wojciechowski, who also had two goals and two assists, Derrick Treppa, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Alex Anderson, who also tallied one goal and two assists.
