Chase Tackett had one goal and two assists to lead Detroit Fighting Irish. Tackett scored 15:52 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Detroit Fighting Irish. Eric Long picked up the assist.

Michigan Ice Dogs was unable to stop Detroit Fighting Irish from sending pucks towards the net, and Detroit Fighting Irish eventually piled up 53 shots on goal.

Michigan Ice Dogs had gained a power play chance when Smith was whistled for roughing. Gordon Sparks picked up the assist.
