MC Monarchs rolls over Michigan Ice Dogs, 6-1Fraser Hockeyland Tue, Nov 18, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
MC Monarchs had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over Michigan Ice Dogs. MC Monarchs was led by Bryce Peplinski, who finished with one goal and one assist. Peplinski scored 7:04 into the second period to make the score 2-1 MC Monarchs. Adam Jonak provided the assist. MC Monarchs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Michigan Ice Dogs to score on any of its three power plays. MC Monarchs forced Michigan Ice Dogs goalie Christopher Boyd to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. MC Monarchs got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. MC Monarchs also got points from Jonak, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. MC Monarchs also had goals scored by Derrick Treppa, who had two and Corey Finnemore and Joseph Gibbs, who scored one goal each. More assists for MC Monarchs came via Jarrad Vroman, who had two and Trevor Pode, Matthew Snyder, and Alec Domin, who contributed one each. Michigan Ice Dogs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 70 minutes in penalties during the game. Michigan Ice Dogs was led by Marc Rotondo, who scored the team's only goal. Rotondo scored 5:50 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brent Young picked up the assist. Tyler Skulley made 22 saves for MC Monarchs on 23 shots. MC Monarchs incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Boyd recorded 40 saves for Michigan Ice Dogs. For Michigan Ice Dogs, Ryan McNulty was ejected from the game.
