Alpena Flyers tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Michigan Ice Dogs held on for a 7-5 victory. Michigan Ice Dogs took a 7-4 lead during the third period, only to have Alpena Flyers storm back on a Brandon Bihn goal 16:21 into the third period to pull to two goals down. Gordon Sparks had two goals and two assists to lead Michigan Ice Dogs. Sparks scored the first of his two goals at 5:07 into the second period to make the score 3-3.
