Berkley Bruins rides Kare to victory over Alpena Flyers, 2-1

Nolan Kare had a standout game with 34 saves, and Berkley Bruins beat Alpena Flyers 2-1.

Berkley Bruins was sparked by Colton James, who had one goal. James scored 1:32 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Berkley Bruins. Tory Shand picked up the assist.

Berkley Bruins stifled Alpena Flyers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Alpena Flyers was unable to stop Berkley Bruins from sending pucks towards the net, and Berkley Bruins eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Berkley Bruins' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Berkley Bruins also got a goal from Timothy Muhsman as well. In addition, Berkley Bruins received assists from Richard Gardner and Alex Anderson, who each chipped in one.

Alpena Flyers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Berkley Bruins power plays. Alpena Flyers could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Alpena Flyers averages 3.9 goals per game. Alpena Flyers forced Berkley Bruins goalie Kare to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Alpena Flyers was led by Nicholas Baranyai, who scored the team's only goal. Baranyai scored 10:59 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brandon Bihn assisted on the tally.

Berkley Bruins incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Everett Calendine made 34 saves for Alpena Flyers on 36 shots. Alpena Flyers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
