Michigan Ice Dogs uses shootout to best Detroit Fighting Irish, 5-4 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Michigan Ice Dogs defeated Detroit Fighting Irish in a shootout 5-4 (2-1 SO).

The two teams needed nine turns to complete the shootout. Detroit Fighting Irish got a shootout goal from Nolan Jakrzewski. In addition to the clincher, Michigan Ice Dogs got a shootout goal from Joseph Russo.

Michigan Ice Dogs came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Michigan Ice Dogs was down 4-1 after a goal by Detroit Fighting Irish's Zachary Cruz at 11:35 in the second period. Michigan Ice Dogs knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Ryan McNulty at 5:24 in the third period.
