Traverse City Hounds beats MC Monarchs 4-2 after comeback scare

MC Monarchs tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Traverse City Hounds would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2.

Traverse City Hounds took a 4-1 lead during the third period, only to have MC Monarchs storm back on a Bryce Peplinski goal 16:41 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

In the losing effort, MC Monarchs was sparked by Peplinski, who tallied two goals. Peplinski scored the first of his two goals at 1:40 into the second period to make the score 1-0 MC Monarchs. Adam Jonak picked up the assist. Peplinski's next tally made the score 4-2 Traverse City Hounds with 3:19 left in the third period. Trevor Pode assisted on the tally.

Traverse City Hounds' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four MC Monarchs power plays. Traverse City Hounds did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Traverse City Hounds puts an average of 6.3 pucks into the net per game. Traverse City Hounds' offense rang up 40 shots on MC Monarchs' net.

Traverse City Hounds was helped by Greg Meuser, who had one goal. Meuser scored 14:31 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Traverse City Hounds. Traverse City Hounds also got a goal from Patrick Rogowski as well. In addition, Traverse City Hounds received assists from Cam Fisher, who had two and Austin Flores and Jan Voves, who contributed one each.
