Traverse City Hounds rolls over Michigan Ice Dogs, 6-1

Traverse City Hounds had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over Michigan Ice Dogs.

Traverse City Hounds was led by goalie David Krecjik, who finished with 41 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Krecjik will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.11.

Traverse City Hounds put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Michigan Ice Dogs to score on any of its seven power plays. Traverse City Hounds' offense rang up 39 shots on Michigan Ice Dogs' net. Traverse City Hounds could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Traverse City Hounds was helped by Greg Meuser, who racked up two goals and one assist. Meuser scored the first of his two goals at 18 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Traverse City Hounds. Austin Flores assisted on the tally. Meuser's next tally made the score 4-0 Traverse City Hounds with 10:03 left in the third period. A tripping penalty on Joseph Russo had put Traverse City Hounds on the power play. Jacob Gillis provided the assist. Traverse City Hounds additionally got points from Cam Fisher, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Traverse City Hounds also got a goal from Cam Givens as well. Other players who recorded assists for Traverse City Hounds were Patrick Rogowski, who had two and Kevin Hansen, who had three.
