Rogowski's big game bests MC Monarchs in 5-1 Traverse City Hounds win

Behind a great game by Patrick Rogowski, who had two goals and one assist, Traverse City Hounds defeated MC Monarchs, 5-1.

Rogowski found the back of the net short handed 3:36 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Traverse City Hounds and again while 12:19 into the second to make the score 4-0 Traverse City Hounds.

Traverse City Hounds' Justin Abdelhak was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past him. Abdelhak certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.6 entering the contest.

Traverse City Hounds forced MC Monarchs goalie Tyler Skulley to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

Traverse City Hounds additionally got points from Cam Fisher, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Traverse City Hounds included Austin Flores and Clayton Dowlan, who each put in one. More assists for Traverse City Hounds came via Cam Givens, who had two and Caleb Breithaupt, Kevin Hansen, Greg Meuser, and Grant McCormick, who contributed one each.

MC Monarchs' offense operated below its season average. MC Monarchs averages 4.3 goals per game.

MC Monarchs was led by Adam Jonak, who scored the team's only goal. Jonak scored on the power play 8:01 into the third period to make the score 4-1 Traverse City Hounds. A tripping penalty on Jacob Gillis had put MC Monarchs on the power play. Trevor Pode provided the assist.

Traverse City Hounds incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Tyler Skulley made 38 saves for MC Monarchs on 43 shots. MC Monarchs incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
