Berkley Bruins survives Alpena Flyers comeback, wins 6-5

Berkley Bruins survived a determined comeback attempt by Alpena Flyers on the way to a 6-5 win.

A goal by Cristian Purdom put Berkley Bruins up 6-4 in the third period, but Alpena Flyers pulled to within one on Garret Bailey's tally 19:33 into the third period.

Berkley Bruins put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Alpena Flyers to score on any of its eight power plays. Berkley Bruins forced Alpena Flyers goalie Everett Calendine to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Berkley Bruins' goal total was higher than its season average. This season, Berkley Bruins averages 2.7 goals per contest. Berkley Bruins could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 41 minutes in penalties during the game.

Berkley Bruins was led by Timothy Wilson, who tallied three goals and one assist. Berkley Bruins additionally got points from Purdom, who also had one goal and one assist.
