Huge game by Givens boosts Traverse City Hounds over Berkley Bruins, 7-1

Cam Givens had one goal and three assists to lead Traverse City Hounds to a 7-1 victory over Berkley Bruins.

Givens scored 6:41 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Traverse City Hounds. Patrick Rogowski provided the assist. Givens dished an assist on Austin Flores's goal that made the score 1-0 Traverse City Hounds at 1:40 into the first period. He then added assists on Kevin Hansen's goal at 9:02 into the second and on Rogowski's goal at 14:23 into the third.

Traverse City Hounds' penalty kill excelled, as Traverse City Hounds gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Traverse City Hounds forced Berkley Bruins' netminders to work without much rest, ripping 51 shots and forcing 44 saves. Jacob Gorzelski made 19 stops and Hunter Myers made 25. Traverse City Hounds stifled Berkley Bruins' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Traverse City Hounds was often in penalty trouble, as it ended with seven minors and two majors for 24 minutes in penalty time.

Traverse City Hounds additionally got points from Flores, who also had two goals and two assists and Rogowski, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Jacob Gillis also scored for Traverse City Hounds. Other players who recorded assists for Traverse City Hounds were Clayton Dowlan, who had two and Stan Swiderek, Cam Fisher, Andrew Dzierwa, and David Krejcik, who each chipped in one.

Berkley Bruins racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with five minors and two majors for 40 minutes in penalty time. Berkley Bruins surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game.

Berkley Bruins also got a goal from Alex Anderson as well. In addition, Berkley Bruins received assists from Timothy Muhsman, who had one.

Justin Abdelhak made 18 saves before being replaced by Krejcik, who took the win and made seven saves. Traverse City Hounds registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For Berkley Bruins, Julian Willibey was ejected from the game.
