MC Monarchs and Soo Firehawks were evenly matched throughout their contest, but MC Monarchs made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Bryce Peplinski at 9:12 of the third period. MC Monarchs got the win thanks to a great game by Adam Jonak, who had one goal and three assists. Jonak scored 1:24 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Joseph Gibbs provided the assist. Soo Firehawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow MC Monarchs to score on any of its six power plays.
