Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) squeaks by LA Jr. Kings (MM), 5-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) escaped with a 5-3 victory over LA Jr. Kings (MM).

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Kole Sherwood's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Sherwood had two goals and one assist to lead Ohio Blue Jackets (MM). Sherwood scored the first of his two goals at 2:05 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Carson Meyer picked up the assist. Sherwood's next tally made the score 4-3 Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) with 2:14 left in the third period. Joe Urbanic assisted on the tally.

Ohio Blue Jackets (MM)'s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five LA Jr. Kings (MM) power plays. Ohio Blue Jackets (MM)'s offense rang up 43 shots on LA Jr. Kings (MM)'s net. Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Others who scored for Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) included Nicholas Schantz, Jack Hale, and Walker Sommer, who each put in one. More assists for Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) came via Nicholas Jenny, Mitchell Perrault, and Andrew Augustine, who contributed one each.

In addition, LA Jr. Kings (MM) received assists from Nicholas Schrepfer, Aaron Aragon, and Brian Hodges, who each chipped in one.

Grant Valentine recorded 16 saves for Ohio Blue Jackets (MM). Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Rock Boynton made 38 saves for LA Jr. Kings (MM) on 42 shots.
