Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) uses shootout to best St. Louis AAA Blues (MM), 3-2 (3-2 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) defeated St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) in a shootout 3-2 (3-2 SO).

The shootout lasted for 18 attempts between the teams. St. Louis AAA Blues (MM)'s shootout goals were scored by Josh Bell and Joseph Matthews. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) also got shootout goals from ZACH SARNOWSKI and SCOTT AARON.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) made the score 2-0 on a short handed goal by MATT JENNINGS at 4:05 in the second period. St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) evened things up at 2-2 on a short handed goal by Spencer Sallenbach at 11:30 in the third period.

JENNINGS had a great game for Thunder AAA Hockey (MM), netting two goals.

Other players who recorded assists for Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) were COLE CRAWFORD and KYLE GALLOWAY, who each chipped in one.

St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) ended up below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game. St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) forced Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) goalie JEREMY WIK to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) also got a goal from Tyler Hall as well. In addition, St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) received assists from Matthews, Bell, Zane OBryan, and Cole Chatham, who contributed one each.

WIK recorded 38 saves for Thunder AAA Hockey (MM). Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tommy Nappier took the otl and made 20 saves before being replaced by Ellis Burgett who made one save. St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
