Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Chicago Fury (MM) defeated St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO). The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout.Chicago Fury (MM) came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Chicago Fury (MM) trailed 2-0 after a power play goal by St. Louis AAA Blues (MM)'s Jeff Makowski at 9:27 in the first period. Chicago Fury (MM) knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Makowski at 16:17 in the third period. Chicago Fury (MM)'s penalty kill excelled, as Chicago Fury (MM) gave up one goal despite allowing nine power plays. Chicago Fury (MM) forced St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) goalie Tommy Nappier to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Chicago Fury (MM) could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game. Chicago Fury (MM) was helped by Cody Hrabak, who racked up one goal. Hrabak scored on the power play 17:11 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Chicago Fury (MM) had gained a power play chance when Josh Bell was whistled for slashing.
