Denver University of survives Midland University comeback, wins 5-4

The Midland University Warriors tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Denver University of Pioneers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

Denver University of took a 5-3 lead during the third period, only to have Midland University storm back on a Sierra Alarid goal 10:15 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Megan Dekutoski had a great game for the Pioneers, netting two goals.

Denver University of's offense rang up 50 shots on the Warriors' net. The Pioneers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Denver University of averages 2.0 goals per contest. The defensemen of the Pioneers were also effective in Midland University's zone, and came away with four goals.

Denver University of also got points from Emily Clark, who also had one goal and one assist. Emily Usset also scored for Denver University of. In addition, Denver University of received assists from Sydney Archuleta, who had one and Marissa Lambert, who had three.

The Warriors managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Midland University ended up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game. The Warriors found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season.
