St. Andrews College holds on for 2-1 win against Upper Canada CollegeWilder Arena Complex Wed, Feb 11, 2015 The St. Andrews College Saints survived a determined comeback attempt by the Upper Canada College Blues on the way to a 2-1 win. St. Andrews College made the score 2-0 on a goal by Otto Saarimaa at 15:43 in the first period, and Upper Canada College got as close as 2-1 when Mark Bastow scored 17:38 into the third period. The Blues' power play was ineffective against the Saints' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. St. Andrews College's offense operated below its season average. The Saints average 4.6 goals per game. St. Andrews College forced Upper Canada College goalie Jack Pendrith to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Saints were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 16 penalty minutes. Mac Lewis also scored for St. Andrews College. In addition, St. Andrews College received assists from Calvin Walker, JD Falconer, Alex MacDonald, and Emil Hiiri, who contributed one each. The Blues' offense were handcuffed by St. Andrews College's defensive play, and Upper Canada College managed only 12 shots on goal during the game. More assists for Upper Canada College came via Cameron White, who had one. Cole Chapman rejected 11 shots on goal for the Saints.
