Ridley College squeaks by St. Michaels College, 4-2

The Ridley College Tigers gutted out a close 4-2 win against the St. Michaels College Majors.

Ridley College gained the winning advantage on a goal by Noah Tooke 14:54 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

The Tigers got the win on the strength of a great game by Tooke, who had one goal and two assists.

Ridley College put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow St. Michaels College to score on any of its four power plays. The Majors were unable to stop the Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Ridley College eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. The Tigers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Ridley College also got points from Connor Hill, who also registered one goal and one assist and Patrick MacDonald, who also had one goal and one assist. Ridley College also got a goal from Brendan Lochead as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ridley College were Charles Levesque, who had one.

St. Michaels College's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine Ridley College power plays. The Majors were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 28 penalty minutes.

St. Michaels College was helped by Marco Violo, who racked up one goal and one assist. Violo scored 13:17 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Nick Salamon assisted on the tally. St. Michaels College additionally got points from Salamon, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, St. Michaels College received assists from Mark Paolini, who had one.

Cam Gray recorded 27 saves for Ridley College. Jack Edmands made 27 saves for the Majors on 31 shots.
