Girhiny's hat trick boosts Ridley College over Upper Canada College, 5-2H.C. Griffith Complex - Ridley Fri, Nov 28, 2014 Christian Girhiny netted a hat trick to lead Ridley College over Upper Canada College, 5-2. Girhiny got on the scoresheet 3:32 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:11 into the second and at 3:29 into the third.Upper Canada College's power play was ineffective against Ridley College's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Ridley College stifled Upper Canada College's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Ridley College struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 18 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays. Ridley College's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Ridley College also got points from Cole Cameron, who also registered one goal and one assist. Ridley College also got a goal from Noah Tooke as well. In addition, Ridley College received assists from Will Lochead, who had one and Brendan Lochead and Connor Hill, who each chipped in two. Upper Canada College's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Ridley College power plays. Upper Canada College could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game. Upper Canada College was helped by Matthew Baker, who finished with two goals.
