Nichols School rolls over Upper Canada College, 3-0

The Nichols School Vikings had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 3-0 win over the Upper Canada College Blues.

Nichols School was led by Keaton Arkeilpane, who registered one goal. Arkeilpane scored 1:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nichols School. Nick Passafiume provided the assist.

The Vikings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Upper Canada College to score on any of its three power plays. Nichols School's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Vikings allow 2.3 goals per game. Nichols School kept the Blues' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jack Pendrith made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Nichols School also had goals scored by Griffin Lunn and Ross Cominsky, who scored one goal each. In addition, Nichols School received assists from Zac Herrmann and Dante Todaro, who contributed one each.

Upper Canada College was held below its usual level of production. The Blues put an average of 2.2 pucks into the net per game.

Jerry Baerwitz made 24 saves for the Vikings on 24 shots. Nichols School incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Upper Canada College incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
