Nichols School and Appleby College skate to 4-4 tieLaBrier Family Arena Sat, Nov 22, 2014 Even though Nichols School's Carson Gicewicz netted two goals and Keaton Arkeilpane ccontributed one point, Nichols School was held to a tie by Appleby College, 4-4. Nichols School put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Appleby College to score on any of its six power plays. Nichols School kept Appleby College's goalie busy throughout the game, and Avery Gobbo made 47 saves on 51 shots. Harrison Oates also scored for Nichols School. In addition, Nichols School received assists from Griffin Lunn, who had two and Ross Cominsky, Anthony Scanzuso, and Nick Passafiume, who each chipped in one. Appleby College stifled Nichols School's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Appleby College was helped by Tommy Hoogaars, who finished with one goal. Hoogaars scored 16:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Appleby College. Matt Thompson provided the assist. Appleby College also got points from Thompson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Morgan MacDonald, who also registered one goal and one assist. Appleby College also got a goal from Andrew Tarasca as well. More assists for Appleby College came via Callum Jones, who had one and Bailey Newton, who had three. Jerry Baerwitz made 26 saves for Nichols School on 30 shots. Nichols School incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Appleby College incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
