Huge game by Tosone boosts Massachusetts University of over Rhode Island University of, 6-5

Michaela Tosone was all over the ice for the Massachusetts University of Minutemen, as he tallied two goals and four assists in Massachusetts University of's 6-5 win over the Rhode Island University of Rams.

Tosone scored on the power play at 13:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Massachusetts University of and again while 2:50 into the third to make the score 5-3 Massachusetts University of.

The Minutemen led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Massachusetts University of's Brittani Lanzilli scored on the power play at 14:07 in the second period to put the Minutemen up 4-1.

Massachusetts University of's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. The Minutemen are averaging 1.9 goal against for the season. Massachusetts University of took advantage of Rhode Island University of's penalties, tallying three goals off of three power play opportunities.

Massachusetts University of also got points from Mallory OBrien, who also grabbed two goals and two assists and Lanzilli, who also racked up two goals and two assists. In addition, Massachusetts University of received assists from Alyxandra Rivard, Tatum Schulz, and Amy Morin, who contributed one each.

The Rams were helped by Alisha Difilippo, who tallied two goals and one assist. Difilippo scored the first of his two goals at 4:03 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Massachusetts University of. Kristy Kennedy picked up the assist. Difilippo's next tally made the score 5-4 Massachusetts University of with 9:01 left in the third period. Janessa Courtney provided the assist. Rhode Island University of also had goals scored by Sydney Collins, Jacquelyn Keable, and Monica Darby, who scored one goal each.

The Minutemen incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Rhode Island University of incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
