Penn State University takes care of Northeastern University early, wins 11-1Pegula Ice Arena Sat, Jan 31, 2015 The Northeastern University Huskies fell behind early, and the Penn State University Nitty Lions kept piling on the points on the way to an 11-1 victory. Penn State University got the win behind a great game by Darby Kern, who had four goals and one assist. Kern notched his first tally 4:46 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:43 into the first, at 12:20 into the second, and at 14:44 into the second. The Nitty Lions forced Northeastern University's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 33 shots and forcing 22 saves. Kimberly Pfeifle made 18 stops and Ariadne Rowe made four. Penn State University's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Nitty Lions average 4.5 goals per contest. Penn State University also got points from Devon Fisk, who also tallied three goals and one assist, Cassandra Dunne, who also finished with one goal and two assists, and Riley OConnor, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.
