Brantford completes comeback, beats Stoney Creek, 4-3

The Brantford Blast rallied from one goal down to secure a 4-3 win over the Stoney Creek Generals.

Brantford let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a one hole to pick up the win. The Blast took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Derek Medeiros at 6:25 in the first period. Brantford found itself down 4-3 after Stoney Creek's Brad Jones put the puck home at 14:45 in the third period. After knotting things up at 4-4 on a goal by Dustin Alcock at 19:43 in the third, the Blast got the game-winner from Tony Iaquinto at 1:48 in the third period.

Brantford was led by Alcock, who racked up one goal.

The Generals were unable to stop the Blast from sending pucks towards the net, and Brantford eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Brantford also got a goal from Mike Burgoyne as well. More assists for Brantford came via Cam Sault, Kyle Montpetit, and Jamie Williams, who contributed one each and Jeff Caister and Joel Prpic, who each chipped in two.

Stoney Creek could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Stoney Creek also got points from Dylan Gilbert, who also had one goal and one assist. Stoney Creek also had goals scored by Cole McNeil and Mike Ruberto, who scored one goal each. In addition, Stoney Creek received assists from Sean Blanchard, who had two and Matt Smith, Dominic Crnogorac, and Jeff Leaist, who contributed one each.

Brett Leggat made 20 saves for the Blast on 23 shots. Brantford incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Daniel Svedin rejected 27 shots on goal for the Generals. Stoney Creek registered two goals on five power play opportunities. The Generals ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Marc Madarasz was ejected from the game.
