Dundas vanquishes Brantford in shootout, 4-3 (2-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Dundas Real McCoys defeated the Brantford Blast in a shootout 4-3 (2-0 SO).

The shootout featured five attempts between both teams. Dundas also got a shootout goal from Shawn Snider.

The Real McCoys forced Brantford goalie Anthony Marshall to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Dundas was led by Snider, who tallied one goal and one assist. Snider scored on the power play 17:37 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dundas. The Real McCoys had gotten the advantage when the Blast's Jamie Williams was sent off for interference. Scott Stafford picked up the assist. Dundas additionally got points from Simon Mangos, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Cam Watson also scored for Dundas.

Brantford's offense rang up 70 shots on Dundas' net. The Blast's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Brantford was led by Andrew Lackner, who had one goal and one assist. Lackner scored on the power play 12:27 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Dundas. The Blast had gained a power play chance when Curtis Campbell was whistled for tripping. Chris Rebernik provided the assist. Brantford also got points from Derek Medeiros, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brantford also got a goal from Mike Burgoyne as well. In addition, Brantford received assists from Cam Sault and Dustin Alcock, who contributed one each.

Mike Mole made 67 saves for the Real McCoys on 70 shots. Dundas incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Marshall rejected 30 shots on goal for Brantford. The Blast incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
