Snider's big game bests Brantford in 6-3 Dundas win

Shawn Snider was all over the ice for the Dundas Real McCoys, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Dundas' 6-3 win over the Brantford Blast.

Snider scored at 14:28 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Dundas and again while 6:43 into the third to make the score 5-1 Dundas.

The Real McCoys forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Dundas had been averaging 18.0 minutes in penalties per game. Brantford was unable to stop the Real McCoys from sending pucks towards the net, and Dundas eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. The Real McCoys surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Dundas averages 3.9 goals per contest.

Dundas additionally got points from Cam Watson, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Joe Koudys, who also registered one goal and one assist, Scott Stafford, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Chris McGuffin, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Dundas came via Mike Mole, Simon Mangos, Greg Stewart, Mike Amodeo, and Dan Lapointe, who contributed one each.

The Blast excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Brantford did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Blast average 5.3 goals per game. Brantford forced the Real McCoys goalie Mole to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

The Blast were helped by Derek Medeiros, who racked up one goal. Medeiros scored on the power play 18:13 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Dundas. Brantford had taken the advantage when Dundas' Mangos got sent off for tripping. Joel Prpic assisted on the tally. Brantford also got points from Prpic, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Andrew Marcoux also scored for Brantford. In addition, Brantford received assists from Brandon Dietrich, who had two and Jeff Caister and Chris Leveille, who each chipped in one.

The Real McCoys' Mole stopped 37 shots out of the 40 that he faced. For Dundas, Lapointe was ejected from the game. Brett Leggat rejected 28 shots on goal for the Blast. Brantford totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-9 on the power play. The Blast ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Shayne Salmon was ejected from the game.
