Peter MacKellar netted a hat trick to lead the Whitby Dunlops over the Norwood Vipers, 8-2.

MacKellar's first goal came 34 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 4:10 into the second and at 18:55 into the third.

Whitby stifled Norwood's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Dunlops forced the Vipers goalie David Ayres to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Whitby also got a goal from Kyle Ventura as well. In addition, Whitby received assists from Martin Kearns, who had one, Adam Van Dam, who had three, and Patrick Jobb, Jason McAuley, Matthew Baxter, and Shane Terry, who contributed two each.

Jason Guy rejected 27 shots on goal for Whitby. The Dunlops incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. David Ayres made 27 saves for Norwood on 35 shots. The Vipers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
