LONDON wins tough contest against BRAMPTON, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, LONDON escaped with a 3-2 victory over BRAMPTON.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Lexie Adzija's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Adzija had a great game for LONDON, netting two goals.

BRAMPTON's power play was ineffective against LONDON's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

LONDON's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six BRAMPTON power plays. LONDON kept BRAMPTON's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kaitlyn Simpson made 30 saves on 33 shots. LONDON could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

April Clark (A) also scored for LONDON. In addition, LONDON received assists from Emily Bowman, Ella Shelton (C-home), Nicole Miners, Courtney Simpson, Sydnee Baker, and Jennifer Semkowski (A), who each chipped in one.

BRAMPTON's offense was handcuffed by LONDON's defensive play, and BRAMPTON managed only 13 shots on goal during the game. BRAMPTON could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.

BRAMPTON was helped by Meghan Gallagher, who registered one goal. Gallagher scored 5:57 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Lauren McDonald provided the assist. BRAMPTON additionally got points from McDonald, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for BRAMPTON were Katie McTaggart, who had one.

LONDON's Lauren Dubie stopped 11 shots out of the 13 that she faced. LONDON registered one goal on eight power play opportunities.
