SOUTHWEST falls to CAMBRIDGE in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Julia Lawrence gave CAMBRIDGE a 4-3 (OT) victory over SOUTHWEST when she scored 1:54 into the extra period.

Although CAMBRIDGE was up by as many as three goals in the second period, SOUTHWEST kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. SOUTHWEST pulled to within 3-2 on a goal by Meghan Power at 18:04 in the third period.

CAMBRIDGE's penalty kill excelled, as CAMBRIDGE gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

CAMBRIDGE stifled SOUTHWEST's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. CAMBRIDGE could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

CAMBRIDGE additionally got points from Alyssa Chiarello (A), who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Shannon Pearson, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Emily Woodhouse, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, CAMBRIDGE received assists from Natasha Costello, Shelby Wood, and Nicole Zabel, who contributed one each.

SOUTHWEST's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as SOUTHWEST finished with 14 penalty minutes.

SOUTHWEST was helped by Savannah Bouzide, who had two goals. Bouzide scored the first of her two goals at 11:46 into the second period to make the score 3-1 CAMBRIDGE. Power picked up the assist. Bouzide's next tally made the score 3-3 with 1:00 left in the third period. Power assisted on the tally. SOUTHWEST also got points from Power, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for SOUTHWEST came via Ellen Donaldson, who had two and Amy Maitre and Jenna Rops, who each chipped in one.

Lauren Webber recorded 16 saves for CAMBRIDGE. CAMBRIDGE registered three goals on six power play opportunities. Alex Rajsigl made 20 saves for SOUTHWEST on 24 shots.
