DURHAM WEST had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 3-0 win over BRAMPTON. Alyssa Gee (A) had two goals to lead DURHAM WEST to victory. Gee (A) scored at 10:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 DURHAM WEST and again while 5:15 into the third to make the score 3-0 DURHAM WEST. DURHAM WEST pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes. DURHAM WEST excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. DURHAM WEST's offense rang up 39 shots on BRAMPTON's net. Maria Dominico also scored for DURHAM WEST. More assists for DURHAM WEST came via Claire Balas, Dakota Waites, Samantha McKenzie (C), Alexandra Maw, Saroya Tinker, and Taylor McManus, who contributed one each. BRAMPTON put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow DURHAM WEST to score on any of its five power plays. Rebecca Clark made 23 saves for DURHAM WEST on 23 shots. Allison Small recorded 36 saves for BRAMPTON. BRAMPTON ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. BRAMPTON ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Laura Magliocchi was ejected from the game.
