WHITBY takes care of KINGSTON early, wins 9-0

KINGSTON fell behind early, and WHITBY kept piling on the points on the way to a 9-0 victory.

Rhyen McGill(C) had two goals and one assist to lead WHITBY. McGill(C) scored the first of her two goals at 2:22 into the first period to make the score 2-0 WHITBY. Victoria Howran picked up the assist. McGill(C)'s next tally made the score 4-0 WHITBY with 7:30 left in the first period. Cassidy Vinkle(A) assisted on the tally.

WHITBY forced KINGSTON's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 51 shots and forcing 42 saves. Jensen Murphy made 42 stops and Kathryn (PU) Jalink made zero. WHITBY managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. WHITBY finished below its season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game. WHITBY's goal total was higher than its season average. WHITBY has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

WHITBY additionally got points from Hailey Wilson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Vinkle(A), who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for WHITBY included Jaimie Grigsby, who had three and Katelyn Rae and Maya Patel, who each put in one. In addition, WHITBY received assists from Jaime Fox, Emily Volpe, Briana Colangelo, Emily Reid, Meagan Picco, and Emma Schram, who contributed one each.

KINGSTON's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four WHITBY power plays.

WHITBY's Schram stopped 16 shots out of the 16 that she faced. KINGSTON incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
