BARRIE tried its best to erase a four-goal deficit, but DURHAM WEST would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4. A goal by Kaitlyn McManus (A) put DURHAM WEST up 6-2 in the third period, but BARRIE pulled to within two on Kara Washer's tally 8:42 into the third period. DURHAM WEST forced BARRIE goalie Briar Hughes to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. DURHAM WEST bested its season scoring average. DURHAM WEST has scored at the pace of 2.3 goals per game during the current campaign. DURHAM WEST's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. DURHAM WEST gives up 1.6 goal per game. DURHAM WEST was helped by Alyssa Gee (A), who had two goals. Gee (A) scored the first of her two goals at 14:42 into the first period to make the score 3-2 DURHAM WEST. Dakota Waites assisted on the tally. Gee (A)'s next tally made the score 5-2 DURHAM WEST with 18:00 left in the third period. Taylor McManus picked up the assist. Others who scored for DURHAM WEST included Katrina Manoukarakis, Charlea Pedersen, and Maria Dominico, who scored one goal each. BARRIE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
