Pearson's big game bests SOUTHWEST in 4-1 CAMBRIDGE win

Shannon Pearson was all over the ice for CAMBRIDGE, as she tallied one goal and two assists in CAMBRIDGE's 4-1 win over SOUTHWEST.

Pearson beat Hanna Slater with a shot 3:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 CAMBRIDGE. Miranda Lantz (A) assisted on the tally. Pearson dished an assist on Alyssa Chiarello (A)'s goal that made the score 3-1 CAMBRIDGE at 6:37 into the third period. He added another helper on Lantz (A)'s goal that made the score 4-1 CAMBRIDGE at 9:26 into the third period.

CAMBRIDGE put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow SOUTHWEST to score on any of its five power plays.

CAMBRIDGE also got points from Lantz (A), who also registered one goal and two assists. Rachel Holden also scored for CAMBRIDGE. Other players who recorded assists for CAMBRIDGE were Shelby Wood, Laine Padovan, Morgan Rolph, and Rebecca Haddaway (A), who contributed one each.

SOUTHWEST managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. SOUTHWEST ended up below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game.

SOUTHWEST was led by Janice Hoiting, who scored the team's only goal. Hoiting scored 2:25 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Muna Fadel provided the assist.

Julia Vandyk made 20 saves for CAMBRIDGE on 21 shots. CAMBRIDGE incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Hanna Slater took the loss and made 20 saves before being replaced by Alex Rajsigl who made four saves.
