Manoukarakis' big game bests KINGSTON in 5-2 DURHAM WEST win

Katrina Manoukarakis had two goals and one assist to lead DURHAM WEST to a 5-2 victory over KINGSTON.

Manoukarakis scored at 4:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 DURHAM WEST and again while 13:39 into the third to make the score 4-2 DURHAM WEST.

DURHAM WEST managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. DURHAM WEST wound up below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. KINGSTON was unable to stop DURHAM WEST from sending pucks towards the net, and DURHAM WEST eventually piled up 47 shots on goal. DURHAM WEST found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. DURHAM WEST has scored at the pace of 2.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

DURHAM WEST also got points from Alyssa Gee (A), who also tallied one goal and one assist, Maria Dominico, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Taylor McManus, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for DURHAM WEST came via Samantha McKenzie (C), who had two and Taylor Hicks, Nicole Remedios (PU), Emily Jukosky, and Alexandra Maw, who contributed one each.

KINGSTON was helped by Brianna Gaffney (A), who racked up one goal. Gaffney (A) scored 8:05 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Danielle Wark provided the assist. KINGSTON also got a goal from Logan Conger as well. In addition, KINGSTON received assists from Kassidy Ford, Deena Birney, and Natalie Graham (A), who each chipped in one.

DURHAM WEST's Tera Hofmann stopped 14 shots out of the 16 that she faced. DURHAM WEST registered two goals on four power play opportunities. Brooke Madigan recorded 42 saves for KINGSTON. KINGSTON incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
