CAMBRIDGE beats OTTAWA 3-2 after comeback scare

CAMBRIDGE survived a determined comeback attempt by OTTAWA on the way to a 3-2 win.

CAMBRIDGE made the score 3-1 on a goal by Rachael Irvine at 11:40 in the second period, and OTTAWA got as close as 3-2 when Coralie Larose scored 7:32 into the third period.

CAMBRIDGE pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

Others who scored for CAMBRIDGE included Shelby Wood and Brooklyn Davis, who scored one goal each. In addition, CAMBRIDGE received assists from Miranda Lantz (A), who had two and Maggie Kolcon, Morgan Rolph, Nicole Zabel, and Emilly Woodhouse, who contributed one each.

Sophie Veronneau also scored for OTTAWA. Other players who recorded assists for OTTAWA were Maggie Knott, Sophie Rodenburg, and Amanda Ieradi, who each chipped in one.

CAMBRIDGE's Julia Vandyk stopped 19 shots out of the 21 that she faced. CAMBRIDGE registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Elizabeth Spinozzi made 22 saves for OTTAWA on 25 shots. OTTAWA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
