BRAMPTON hangs on, beats ETOBICOKE 2-1

BRAMPTON took the lead against ETOBICOKE in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 2-1 victory.

BRAMPTON took over the lead for good with a goal by Rose Falzone at 2:19 in the first period.

ETOBICOKE was stymied by BRAMPTON's netminder Kaitlyn Simpson, who stopped 26 shots during the victory. The solid play of Simpson will be reflected in her goals against average, which pre-game was 4.8.

BRAMPTON's penalty kill excelled, as BRAMPTON gave up one goal despite allowing nine power plays.

BRAMPTON could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

BRAMPTON was helped by Hillary Hettwer, who registered one goal. Hettwer scored 8:20 into the first period to make the score 2-0 BRAMPTON. Falzone picked up the assist. BRAMPTON also got points from Falzone, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for BRAMPTON were Rhiannon Ford, who had one.

ETOBICOKE excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

ETOBICOKE was led by Madison MacCulloch, who scored the team's only goal. MacCulloch scored 4:56 into the second period to make the score 2-1 BRAMPTON. Rachel Santini provided the assist.

ETOBICOKE's Fabiana Petricca stopped 18 shots out of the 20 that she faced. ETOBICOKE incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
