Ball's goals lift TORONTO to 4-1 victory over CAMBRIDGE

Behind a great game by Laura Ball, who had two goals, TORONTO defeated CAMBRIDGE, 4-1.

Ball scored at 4:51 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 9:48 into the second to make the score 2-1 TORONTO.

TORONTO excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. TORONTO's offense rang up 45 shots on CAMBRIDGE's net. TORONTO got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Others who scored for TORONTO included Kaitlin Tse and Cristine Chao, who each put in one. More assists for TORONTO came via Haley Shugart, who had two and Sabrina Repaci, Daryl Watts, Celine Frappier, Tori Haywood, Jessie Eldridge, and Mikyla Grant Mentis, who each chipped in one.

CAMBRIDGE's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four TORONTO power plays.

CAMBRIDGE was led by Shelby Wood, who scored the team's only goal. Wood scored 13:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 CAMBRIDGE. Miranda Lantz (A) provided the assist.

TORONTO's Lindsay Wray stopped 16 shots out of the 17 that she faced. TORONTO incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Julia Vandyk rejected 41 shots on goal for CAMBRIDGE. CAMBRIDGE incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
