Liberty University takes care of Montclair State University early, wins 8-2

A four-goal first period deficit cost Montclair State University, which could not recover and fell to Liberty University, 8-2.

Liberty University got the win thanks to a great game by Alyssa Davis, who had two goals and two assists. Davis scored the first of his two goals at 8:11 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Liberty University. Kaitlyn Scales provided the assist. Davis' next tally made the score 6-2 Liberty University with 22 seconds left in the second period. Scales assisted on the tally.

Liberty University managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Liberty University wound up below its season average of 3.0 penalty minutes per game. Liberty University forced Montclair State University goalie Emily Olshefski to work between the pipes, taking 80 shots.
