Liberty University squeaks by Robert Morris University (IL), 4-2Edge 3 - Jefferson Fri, Oct 24, 2014 The Liberty University Flames and the Robert Morris University (IL) Eagles were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Liberty University made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Jenny Macarthur's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. The Flames' penalty kill excelled, as Liberty University gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Robert Morris University (IL) was unable to stop the Flames from sending pucks towards the net, and Liberty University eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. The Flames were led by Amanda Grainger, who registered two goals. Grainger scored the first of his two goals at 8:12 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Liberty University. Autumn Kucharczyk provided the assist. Grainger's next tally made the score 4-2 Liberty University with 4:55 left in the third period. Liberty University earned a power play opportunity when Jordyn Tremain was put in the box for body checking. Carrie Jickling assisted on the tally. Robert Morris University (IL) had gotten the advantage when the Flames' Burrell was sent off for slashing. Brianne Hanson provided the assist. Anderson's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 11:01 left in the third period. Kaela Harbaugh picked up the assist. In addition, Robert Morris University (IL) received assists from Abbey Revelle, who had one. Kristina Toppazzini made 16 saves for Liberty University on 18 shots.
