Greenwood's hat trick boosts Liberty University over Naval Academy, 16-0LaHaye Ice Center Sun, Feb 08, 2015 Chelsey Greenwood lifted the Liberty University Flames to a 16-0 victory with a hat trick against the Naval Academy Midshipmen. Greenwood's first goal came 2:10 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:47 into the second and at 10:50 into the second.Liberty University scored early and often, and held a 7-0 advantage after the first 20 minutes of play. The Flames excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Liberty University forced Naval Academy goalie Sarah Hutchinson to work between the pipes, taking 76 shots. The Flames bested their season scoring average. This season, Liberty University averages 6.0 goals per contest. The defensemen of the Flames were also effective in the Midshipmen's zone, and came away with two goals. Liberty University additionally got points from Carrie Jickling, who also grabbed four goals and two assists, Jenny Macarthur, who also registered one goal and five assists, Nikki Mccombe, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Sarah Stevenson, who also racked up three goals and four assists to lead the team in points, Catharine Burrell, who also had one goal and two assists, Brittany Hymers, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Clarissa Tipping, who also had two goals and one assist. In addition, Liberty University received assists from Caroline Innes, who had one, Madison Fischer, who had four, and Autumn Kucharczyk and Courtney Gilmour, who each chipped in two. Kristina Toppazzini recorded 21 saves for Liberty University. The Flames incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Sarah Hutchinson made 60 saves for Naval Academy on 76 shots. The Midshipmen incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
